WOW, what an amazing time I had photographing this race. The Oregon SCCA racers, both men and women are some of the nicest people you will meet. The cars were amazing, the race was both exciting and full of surprises.

Packwood,WA SCCA Oregon Region

I am in Packwood, WA to photograph the SCCA Oregon Region Race. My sister and brother-in-law provided me the opportunity to build my portfolio.

I went out this evening to the track, which is located at an old Lumber Mill in the small town of Packwood, WA. I took a ton of test shots and was able to get a few shots of Dennis testing the track for safety.

Below are a few of the shots I captured and was able to process before I went to bed for the evening. I must be up bright and early to walk the track, scout locations for action shots and capture drivers getting ready for their "run".

Enjoy and I will provide more shots from this weekends race on Sunday.

Happy RACING
Kari

A Warm Summer's Night

So, it is the beginning of Summer Break and the house of full of pitter patter and the boys arguing back and forth, they sure didn't wait long to start that. Now that summer is here and the days are longer there is more free time in the evenings. Tonight we went up to the Astoria Column, it has been closed for a year and a half because the stairs we deteriorating. They are in the process of replacing the the stairs~these take you to the top of the world. We went to see the crane in action, but they were done for the night so the kids took the opportunity to run around and burn off some energy.

Below are a few images I took of our evening up at the Column. Check back for more, the evening went quick and I ran out of time, but what else is new?!?!? :-)

Check out the new photos I added below...old covered bridge

I added a few more photos to my "oldest covered bridge" post. Make sure to check out the photos at the bottom of the post. I was able to capture Drayke and Colin jumping off a stone bench underneath these beautiful trees, surrounded by a massive field of tall grass.

Check back for more photos from this session.

As Dave's "leave" (vacation to the Civilian world) comes to an end, I am happy to say we managed to get everything done on our "to do" list.

I now sit, relax, spend time with the boys and enjoy calmness inside a beautiful redecorated home.

Oh yeah, tomorrow is the last day of school...Bring on Summer Vacation!!!

My New Look..

I have been debating for ages on how I would "brand" myself. After a long week of cleaning and organizing my home. Painting walls with beautiful Ralph Lauren paint, Haystack and ++++ paint, it all came to me~black and mocha~beautiful, classic, simple and sleek.

I will share pictures of my beautiful new living space that inspired my new Logo as soon as I get pictures taken...tomorrow!!

There are two I like, the difference is the font on "photography". Which one do you like???

The Old Covered Bridge

Today the family and I went to visit the Oldest COVERED Bridge in Washington. Located in Grays River, WA 30 minutes from Astoria, it made for the perfect Photo Session with the Family. Practice makes perfect and this location and weather was really a challenge. When we were done, I was happy with the composition, personality and raw emotion I captured from my beautiful children.

I have to thank my wonderful friends Jess and Nick for sharing this beautiful location. Jess's husband understands her passion for photography and found this location while he was working. Lots of thanks Nick :-)!!!

Paulson Family Session SNEAK PEAK!!!!

**I have updated my Blog with new photos.**

WOW, I had super fun doing this photo session. I tried new locations, fought with the sun (who would have thought I could complain about too much sun in the PNW) and over all achieved some gorgeous photos. My Brother in Law was a trooper, Abigail hung in as long as she could and Danielle was game for anything.

The carriage used in the photos was a rare find during my Yard Saleing last Friday, I paid $20.00 for the adorable carriage and it created an amazing photo.
