Spring Storms

So, the saying goes..."in like a lion out like a lamb", but for the Northern Oregon Coast it sure hasn't been a lamb~more like the lion.  We have had 80 mile an hour winds and precipitation from light rain to so much hail it looked like it snowed.
This shoot was taken this evening taken from my front porch during another hail storm.  I wanted to get the hail but it stopped as soon as it started. :-)

SPRING BREAK...

has arrived in our small Coastal Town.  Hundreds of kids will be running around the neighborhoods and vacationers will be visiting the small shops in town, clogging our streets with traffic and hopefully feeding our economy.

This week I plan to "go out on the town" and photograph our little town in "spring break choas".  Check back to see what my camera saw :-)

Redecorating...

I love redecorating my home, so it's not a surprise that I have yet again redecorated my Blog page.  Thanks to backgroundfairy.com who provided the amazing page template and coffeteaphotography.blogspot.com for the amazing blog header template, you both helped me create and amazing eye catching Blog I am uber proud of.

I have found that my super fast Extreme III CF card is "too fast" for the card reader I have that claims to be "Hi-Speed".  I have been sitting here waiting for an hour to download about 100 pictures.  I'm hoping to get them downloaded, processed and a few up on my Blog before the end of the night.

Conner Sneak Peek!!

Our family is all about traditions and celebrating every occasion or milestone. At 18 months every child gets their picture taken in the same outfit. The girls a pretty blue dress with ruffles and the boys "polyester " overalls with a sail boat and a blue/white striped shirt. This has gone back three generations, my Grammy had my Moms taken, she had mine and I had all 3 of my boys.

Now it is my little sisters turn, her son Conner is 18 months, wow time flies fast. I remember when he was born and saying to her that "I couldn't wait until they could run and play" and now they are.

Here is a sneak peek of my Nephew Conners 18 month Family Tradition picture.

Packwood,WA SCCA Oregon Region

I am in Packwood, WA to photograph the SCCA Oregon Region Race. My sister and brother-in-law provided me the opportunity to build my portfolio.

I went out this evening to the track, which is located at an old Lumber Mill in the small town of Packwood, WA. I took a ton of test shots and was able to get a few shots of Dennis testing the track for safety.

Below are a few of the shots I captured and was able to process before I went to bed for the evening. I must be up bright and early to walk the track, scout locations for action shots and capture drivers getting ready for their "run".

Enjoy and I will provide more shots from this weekends race on Sunday.

Happy RACING

A Warm Summer's Night

So, it is the beginning of Summer Break and the house of full of pitter patter and the boys arguing back and forth, they sure didn't wait long to start that. Now that summer is here and the days are longer there is more free time in the evenings. Tonight we went up to the Astoria Column, it has been closed for a year and a half because the stairs we deteriorating. They are in the process of replacing the the stairs~these take you to the top of the world. We went to see the crane in action, but they were done for the night so the kids took the opportunity to run around and burn off some energy.

Below are a few images I took of our evening up at the Column. Check back for more, the evening went quick and I ran out of time, but what else is new?!?!? :-)

Check out the new photos I added below...old covered bridge

I added a few more photos to my "oldest covered bridge" post. Make sure to check out the photos at the bottom of the post. I was able to capture Drayke and Colin jumping off a stone bench underneath these beautiful trees, surrounded by a massive field of tall grass.

Check back for more photos from this session.

As Dave's "leave" (vacation to the Civilian world) comes to an end, I am happy to say we managed to get everything done on our "to do" list.

I now sit, relax, spend time with the boys and enjoy calmness inside a beautiful redecorated home.

Oh yeah, tomorrow is the last day of school...Bring on Summer Vacation!!!

My New Look..

I have been debating for ages on how I would "brand" myself. After a long week of cleaning and organizing my home. Painting walls with beautiful Ralph Lauren paint, Haystack and ++++ paint, it all came to me~black and mocha~beautiful, classic, simple and sleek.

I will share pictures of my beautiful new living space that inspired my new Logo as soon as I get pictures taken...tomorrow!!

There are two I like, the difference is the font on "photography". Which one do you like???

The Old Covered Bridge

Today the family and I went to visit the Oldest COVERED Bridge in Washington. Located in Grays River, WA 30 minutes from Astoria, it made for the perfect Photo Session with the Family. Practice makes perfect and this location and weather was really a challenge. When we were done, I was happy with the composition, personality and raw emotion I captured from my beautiful children.

I have to thank my wonderful friends Jess and Nick for sharing this beautiful location. Jess's husband understands her passion for photography and found this location while he was working. Lots of thanks Nick :-)!!!

Paulson Family Session SNEAK PEAK!!!!

**I have updated my Blog with new photos.**

WOW, I had super fun doing this photo session. I tried new locations, fought with the sun (who would have thought I could complain about too much sun in the PNW) and over all achieved some gorgeous photos. My Brother in Law was a trooper, Abigail hung in as long as she could and Danielle was game for anything.

The carriage used in the photos was a rare find during my Yard Saleing last Friday, I paid $20.00 for the adorable carriage and it created an amazing photo.

I was inspired today to process more of my adorable Nieces photos. Here
are 2 more of my favorite shots from her session a few weeks ago.

I received a phone call from my sister who told me I needed to find a website to
host Galleries from my photo sessions. Her In-Laws are dying to purchase, not only
photos of their beautiful granddaughter, great granddaughter and niece but my work. These
photos I took, cared for and added my stamp too. I knew this would happen eventually but
not this soon. It may be a little bias considering they are family, but family none the less who
think my images are worthy enough for purchase and to hang in their homes.
